Lot 18 - Unnamed
Awesome Rock (Fastnet Rock x Awesome Planet, by Giant’s Causeway) stood his first season at stud in 2017.
Awesome Rock earned over $2Million in prize money during his career, to become the highest earning son of Fastnet Rock in Australia. He would have won significantly more if not losing the Group 1 Australian Cup on objection to four-time Group 1 winner Preferment.
His stunning win in the Group 1 Emirates-Mackinnon Stakes was against an international field that included eight Group 1 winners with French star Vadamos left in his wake along with Hauraki, The United States and Palentino.
Unraced, Champagne Choix is a half sister to G3 Black Opal winner UBER, also a dual Listed winner and a three-quarter sister to the takes placed Viva Caro and G1 TJ Smith Classic runner-up Baci Amore.
Her dam Coverage was also unraced, but produced 9 foals to race for 7 winners.
The family also includes Tea Rose, Queen of the Turf and Light Fingers winner SHINAKIMA, plus MELORA who won the G2 Hollindale and ran 3rd in a QLD Oaks.
Daughters of Choisir have produced up to 12 stakes winners in both hemispheres so far, including Australian G1 performer Eckstein and Winter – a multiple Group 1 winner in Europe including the Nassau Stakes, Irish 1000 Guineas and Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot.
