This 4yo gelding is by the Group-winning son of Champion Sire Redoute’s Choice in Scissor Kick, sire of 87 winners to date including Everest Champion Giga Kick and SW Dzsenifer (2nd Winx Guineas).
Unzaga has been patiently handled and has won twice this season and been placed on 5 occasions to date. His wins have come on good surfaces at 1600m & 2100m. His most recent start saw him narrowly beaten by a nose in a BM 58 at Dubbo earlier this month.
A model of consistency, Unzaga has only finished outside the first 4 on three occasions- running 5th twice – and has earned a cheque in every start to date.
Unzaga is out of a half-sister to Group-placed Felton Road (3rd ARC Karaka Million in NZ) and is closely related to Group 1 winners Probabeel (4 Gr1 wins incl. ATC Epsom Hdcp), Savvy Coup (NZ Oaks) and Never Been Kissed (ATC Flight Stakes).
Unzaga has been spelling since his last start. He is a sound horse, straight forward to train and an easy horse to ride. He is a lovely horse to have around the stable. It should be noted that he has been seen to windsuck from time to time. The reason for this sale is to dissolve a partnership.
